Once again, the Texas dietitians are trying to monopolize what information consumers receive about nutrition and dietary supplements.

Since 1999, during every legislative session, the dietitians have come back with the same bill to try to legally prohibit nutritionists, naturopaths, homeopaths, sports trainers, natural products retailers/distributors and any other unlicensed Texas practitioners from providing nutritional information to consumers. Each time their efforts were beaten back by grass roots efforts, the many health organizations that protect consumer freedom of choice, and professional groups. Now the dietitians are back in this 2007 session, trying to pass the same exclusive license bill.
